Otter
Lake Association Letter Greetings from
Otter Lake, Happy Spring!
With having had a mild winter, spring is very dry here in the North Country. It
has also been very windy. Those of you who have been away can anticipate finding
much tree debris, but hopefully no serious wind damage to your property. Good News…….We have finally received all the necessary paperwork for the stocking of Otter Lake with Grass Carp. This will occur at the end of May. Signs will be posted at the Lakefront and Dam Area that will prohibit fishing for Grass Carp by the order of OLA, DEC and APA. UPDATE:
Grass Carp were released in the Lake on May 24th... Over the winter there was damage to the right stone pillar at the entrance of Lakeview Road. Work to repair the damage will begin soon at the drivers’ expense. Enclosed you
will find this years membership form. Please be generous with your donations for
BTI (Black Fly Control) and the Carp Fund.
BTI Application expense has reached over $6000 each year which we begin
to pay early in January before the season has even started. The necessity of
lake mapping to monitor the water quality, vegetation and fish for several years
to come will continue to be an annual expense for OLA. Hanging Flower
Basket forms are also included. Another Cap-21 project, we would like those of
you who have bear problems to know about, is the sale of Bear Proof trash cans.
More information will be available at the meeting or by contacting Cap-21 for
those who might be interested. Dumpster

each property owner to know where their septic is leaching to ensure a safe

quality. Many properties
have sold in the area since last fall. Extend a Warm Welcome to your new
